The Emerging Markets Program Annual Symposium takes place each year in April.  This event merges two key initiatives of the Emerging Markets Program, the Clifton Wharton Emerging Markets Award and the SMART Program poster presentations and reception. This wonderful event provides students, faculty, community partners, donors, and the broader Cornell community a forum for reflections and discussions on engaged learning and global engagement.

The Wharton Award features a presentation of the Dr. Clifton Wharton, Jr. Emerging Markets Award, which is given to an individual who has made a profound impact on low-income communities through his/her work on public policy, private strategy, or philanthropic investments.

The SMART Student Poster Presentation & Reception provides SMART fellows the opportunity to share their project posters and while also sharing their learned experiences and contributions to the community partner and program.
